Avalanche sign Matt Hunwick

In a move we saw coming, the Avs have officially re-signed Matt Hunwick to a one-year contract. Monies not released yet. Hunwick, as we all know, didn't have the greatest of starts with the Avalanche, but he proved to be one of the better members of a dismal d-corps improved his play* by the end of the season. He looks to be a stop-gap after the departure of John-Michael Liles and the hopeful emergence of Stefan Elliott.
