In a move literally nobody saw coming, the Avalanche have brought in Jan Hejda, formerly of the Columbus Blue Jackets, who became expendable in CBJ with their recent acquisition and signing of D James Wisniewski. Having Hejda and Hejduk on the same team will be quite a bit of fun, I guess. Hejda, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound defender, had a solid year for a mediocre Columbus team last season, scoring 5 goals and adding 15 assists for 20 points.
Early reports indicate the deal is 4 years/$13 million. Cap hit of $3.25M per season.
Welcome to the family, Jan!
