The Dallas Stars filed for bankruptcy Thursday and will reportedly sell the club at an auction.
In response to the Stars' court filing, NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly released the following statement Thursday evening: "Today's filing culminates months of cooperative effort by the League, the Club, the Club's lenders and Dallas Arena LLC. It represents an extremely positive step toward what we expect will be an orderly transition to new ownership for the Dallas Stars."
The Montreal Gazette looks at the differences between training camp now and training camp 30 years ago.
But it’s with the specialization of training where one can see the biggest evolution of NHL training camps.
"Today the emphasis would be on development where yesteryear the main purpose was to get players in shape and prepared for the regular season," said Chicago Wolves head coach Craig MacTavish, who was behind the Canucks’ prospects’ bench all week. "It’s just a lot more sophisticated than in the past and I think the results are that much better because of it."
