CBC has a story about Milan Hejduk.

"His longevity is unbelievable," said centre Matt Duchene, who was 7 when Hejduk played his first NHL game. "Scoring 20 goals that many years in a row is amazing."

Hejduk’s role this year will expand beyond scoring.

With the retirement of defenceman Adam Foote after last season, the Avalanche have a vacancy at captain, and Hejduk is a strong candidate to have the "C’’ on his sweater.

Eric Staal is watching from afar as is brother Marc continues to deal with post-concussion symptom and feels bad about his hit last season that caused the injury.

"It’s difficult. It’s difficult for me and difficult for him," Eric Staal of the Carolina Hurricanes told the Raleigh News & Observer. "It’s one of those situations that’s kind of scary. You obviously don’t want to hurt somebody, especially when it’s your own family. It’s just one of those things he has had a tough time with."
