Since the Avalanche are now officially done for the season, talk is, of course, turning to next season. With only a handful of guys signed, that leaves a lot of room for talking. Some of the boys are RFAs: Matt Duchene, Peter Mueller, Steve Downie, Ryan O`Reilly, Kevin Porter, Mark Olver, Jamie McGinn, Erik Johnson and Ryan Wilson. Chances are that the only RFA that might not be tendered a qualifying offer is Porter, with Wilson being a dark horse for that fate as well. I really doubt any of the other guys will be wearing a different sweater next year.
The UFAs, on the other hand, are a different story. There are those that seem like a lock for a new contract (Jay McClement and Shane O`Brien, for instance), but the rest are up in the air (Milan Hejduk, David Jones, Cody McLeod, Matt Hunwick). You never know with the Avalanche, so what seems a lock may be far from it and vice versa with the ones who are questionable. Alas, we will leave it up to you, the fine folks of MHH: if you could only pick one UFA to bring back, who would it be?
