This is going up a few minutes early because why would I do something right before time for it to go up and then schedule it? I'm sure you'll find a way to cope.
Please Be Interesting! #7 Washington Capitals at #1 New York Rangers, Game 2, 7:30 Eastern, NBC Sports and CBC. Rangers lead series 1-0
My gosh Game 1 of this one was a snoozer. There was lots of intensity I guess, but I mean come on, 3-1 is a reasonably respectable hockey score and all, but there were 32 shots total between the teams. If Braden Holtby (and Mike Green and Dennis Wideman) don't defecate the mattress we're looking at a likely 1-1 Infinite Overtime match that many feared the Coyotes-Predators series would feature. Caps' coach Dale Hunter is looking to jump-start his offense by moving Alex Ovechkin to right wing to keep him away from Dan Girardi (seen above trying to pants Nicklas Backstrom) and Alexander Semin to the fourth line to keep him away from, well, you know, uh...... hm. Good offensive teammates? I dunno guys, help me out here.
As for the Rangers? Henrik Lundqvist told NHL.com this sad, sad, sad bit of sadness.
"I think this is the way we are going to have to play," goalie Henrik Lundqvist said. "It may not be the most fun to watch sometimes, but the most important thing for us is to win."
:(
No Blues for the Kings: #8 Los Angeles Kings at #2 St. Louis Blues, Game 2, 9:00 Eastern, CNBC and TSN. Kings lead series 1-0
All signs point to Good God Seriously Another Alex? Alex Pietrangelo being a game time decision after being boarded heavily in Game 1. I mean I guess, I didn't actually watch that one. Jaroslav Halak still isn't suiting up either, leaving the goaltending duties to fall squarely on one-time tank adornment Brian Elliott.
Also, hire me to write headlines, NHL.com. That was loads better than your usual stuff.
Entertainment if interesting things fail to dress tonight:
Talk! :D
