Preview: Avalanche at Flames

The Avalanche continue the Northwest Division tour in Calgary tonight in the second game of a back-to-back set.

Ron Chenoy-US PRESSWIRE

The Flames are looking to build on their win against the Edmonton Oilers, the first win of the season for the team. They've had four days of rest, hoping to get the jump early on a tired Avalanche club. The Avs just want to get a win on this road trip.

The leading scorers for the Flames are Lee Stempniak and Curtis Glencross, both of whom have 3 goals and 2 assists on the short season. Close behind is former Avalanche, Alex Tanguay with 2 goals and 2 assists. If history holds, look for Tangs to get two hat tricks tonight. The curse of the ex-Avs never lets up, does it?

No news on whether or not captain Gabe Landeskog will be back in the line up, but it's already been said that JS Giguere will get the start. Certainly Semyon Varlamov could use the rest as the boys in burgundy haven't done much to make his job easy lately.

Okay, so I started this before the Canucks game. That's as far as I got. Can't bear to write more.

So how about that Seth Jones kid?
