JAN HEJDA UPDATE: Knee not so bad after all

The defenseman is likely to miss two weeks

Victor Decolongon

Avalanche Nation got an early Christmas gift this afternoon as Santa Mike Chambers trickled the news down our chimneys:

Whew! That could have definitely been worse eh? The way that knee whacked into the boards was pretty scary. Unfortunately, knee injuries do take longer to recuperate from than it takes to get back into game shape, so it could still be longer than that before he is 100%.

Here's the schedule Hejda looks to miss.

12/8 @ Vancouver
12/10 Phoenix
12/12 @ Winnipeg
12/14 Minnesota
12/16-17 Dallas home-and-home
12/19 Edmonton

The Edmonton game is one that Jan should be back in time for based on a two-week time frame from the original injury. In terms of offensive firepower, apart from Vancouver tomorrow, this is maybe not the worst stretch of games to be missing a shut-down guy. It is a bunch of divisional games and conference wildcard hopefuls. though.

What do you think: Will the Avs be okay for these seven games?
