Iginla didn't dress for the game against Colorado.

The Calgary Flames are keeping Jarome Iginla off the ice amid trade speculation surrounding the team's longtime captain.

Iginla was a healthy scratch ahead of the Flames' home game against the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old is in the final year of his contract after spending 16 seasons in a Flames uniform.

An OHL player will miss ten games -potentially all to be served during the playoffs- for a hit to the head (video included, but doesn't start automatically).

The Ontario Hockey League suspended Ryan O’Connor of the Barrie Colts for 10 games Wednesday for hitting an opponent in the head.

The standings could be fun in Canada if the season were to end today.

Notice anything else about Wednesday's standings?

Normally we're loathe to invoke the "what if the playoffs ended today?" matchups. Invariably, pundits don't factor in skewed totals in games played and look at gross points instead of points per game.

But in this case, even when you equalize things, the East would have the following first-round matchups come late April: Ottawa vs. Montreal, and Toronto vs. Winnipeg.
