Joey Hishon suffers another head injury

The worst possible news has become official for Joey Hishon.

Bruce Bennett

Adrian Dater reported today that the Lake Erie Monsters have confirmed Hishon has been diagnosed with a head injury. Although they are not officially calling it a concussion, it's not unreasonable to suspect that it is. Sadly, Hishon was playing very well in his return after two years out due to a previous concussion. He has 6 points (1g, 5a) in 9 games.

The injury came as a result of a borderline hit by Joey Tenute of the Hamilton Bull Dogs on Friday night, a 6-2 win for the Monsters. Tenute was given a five-minute major for boarding.

Here is to hoping that this is just a precaution and that Joey will be okay. He was on his way back into hockey, showing why the Avs took him in the first round of the 2010 NHL entry draft.
