It's being reported by Darren Dreger that defenseman Cameron Gaunce has been traded to the Dallas Stars for RW Tomas Vincour.
Vincour was selected by the Stars in the 5th round (129th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He played his first NHL game on February 9, 2011, and spent most of last season with the big club. The 22-year-old has a total of 86 with 7 goals and 8 assists over the past two years and change. Weighing at six-foot-two and 205 lbs, the Czech native will add size to the front end if/when he makes it to Denver. He's had 15 games this season, with two goals and one assist playing on the lower lines.
Cameron Gaunce has had a troubled season after breaking out in 2011-2012. His ELC is up this summer, so getting something for him now was a good move by the Avalanche (as much as I hate it). The return in Vincour looks to be a good one for the Avs, as well. It will be interesting to see what happens this summer, however, because Vincour's ELC is also up at the end of this season.
