The field continues to shrink. Last night we bade farewell to the future division rival St. Louis Blues. Kevin Shattenkirk and Chris Stewart (Sniff, sniff) combined for a whopping zero goals and three assists. I was ready to celebrate this stat until I remembered Erik Johnson had just four assists all season. But hey, at least he matched them on the goals.
Tonight, just one game as the good ol' Atlantic battle continues.
#1 Pittsburgh Penguins at #8 New York Islanders (3-2 PIT)
7:00 pm ET, NBCSN
The newly nominated Hart Trophy candidates Sidney Crosby and John Tavares face off in a pivotal game at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum tonight.
If Pittsburgh wins, they head back home to await the Ottawa Senators. If not, it's back home anyway for Game 7. In any case, the Islanders will have to learn how to keep the puck out of their own net - they've let in a playoff-high 21 goals in just five games.
