Joe Sacco has found a new home.

Sabres coach Ron Rolston added NHL experience to his new staff by hiring Joe Sacco on Tuesday.

Sacco is a former NHL player who spent the past four seasons as the Colorado Avalanche coach before being fired in April after the team missed the playoffs for a third straight year.

Sacco had a 130-134-40 record and was an NHL coach of the year finalist in 2010 after leading the Avalanche to the playoffs in his first season. In May, Sacco coached the U.S. national team to win a bronze medal at the World Championships in Sweden.

Speaking of finding new homes, TJ Galiardi has been traded.

The San Jose Sharks have traded forward TJ Galiardi to the Calgary Flames in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2015 draft.

The Phoenix saga continues.

The Phoenix Coyotes took a big step toward stability Tuesday night when the Glendale City Council ratified an arena lease agreement with a prospective owner of the franchise.

After making a few alterations, the council voted 4-3 in favour on a 15-year, US$225 million lease agreement with Renaissance Sports & Entertainment during a special session.
