Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Your Colorado Avalanche take on the Maple Leafs of Toronto tonight at the Pepsi Center.
Since we last chatted, the Avs have made a few roster moves. PA Parenteau and Nate Guenin have been taken off Injured Reserve and my main man Karl Stollery has been sent back to Lake Erie. That leaves us with a roster consisting of 13 healthy forwards and 7 healthy defensemen plus a couple of goalies. Joy! But wait....
On the questionable list tonight: John Mitchell has been battling the flu and did not skate this morning, if he is unable to go, Brad Malone will gladly take his place.
Erik Johnson is also a game time decision. Both Rick Sadowski and Ron Knabenbauer from the Avs website report that he is questionable from contracting the flu yesterday afternoon. Of course Mike Chambers wasn't paying attention today and has Johnson out with more back problems, guy is dumber than a bag of hammers. Score another error for the Denver Post.
If Johnson is unable to go, I guess we see Nate Guenin a little earlier than we should have if we had kept the optimum number of 23 players on the roster. Oops.
Tonight's trivia: In 1995, the Avalanche made the first of many trades, real or imagined, with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Colorado sent a 7th round pick that would become Shawn Thornton for which player?
First poster with the correct answer gets an authentic Keytar autographed by Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater. Enjoy!
