Colorado Avalanche Nathan MacKinnon first NHL season is going well, here's an update on how he feels.

The Halfiax Chronicle Herald has an article about Nathan MacKinnon up. He talks about the upcoming Olympic break, the Halifax Mosseheads, his home life away from the rink - but never from hockey, Hockeyville.

The 18-year-old from Cole Harbour is now more than halfway through his rookie season with the Colorado Avalanche and the novelty of playing in the big leagues has definitely not worn off.

“I think the best thing I wasn’t expecting is how easy they make it on you,” MacKinnon said during a phone interview on Tuesday. “It feels like all you have to do is get ready for your games. You pretty much just tie your skates and tape your stick, and everything else is taken care of. I didn’t expect it to be like this.

“Coming into it you never really know what to expect but all I can say is it’s been a difficult transition in terms of the hockey; it’s been a challenge. But everything else has been pretty smooth.”
