From the Monsters Desk: Week 12 - Return to Central NY

Greetings Monsters fans, hope the holidays have gone well for all. This week we go back to LEM's old stomping grounds, the North Division, for a couple of games against Rochester and Utica.

- Not much in the news department this week, most of the guys have been home for Christmas break and the NHL has been in a roster freeze. Some travel issue did pop up:

Weekend Preview

The Amerks started the season off well but have been awful lately going 2-8 in their last 10 games. They sit in 14th place in the WC, strangely enough where the Monsters were a handful of weeks ago, 10 points out of a playoff spot. They give up lots of goals and rack up tons of penalty minutes. Oh boy.

The Comets on the other hand are the best team in the AHL with only 5 regulation losses so far in 29 games. They are extremely stingy on defense, giving up 2.14 goals per game but actually score less prolifically than the Monsters. Back on Nov 7, Utica defeated Lake Erie 4-1 with the lone goal coming from Borna Rendulic in garbage time. The Monsters had 7 PPs and couldn't convert on any of them. This will be a toughie.
