Two sides looking for their first points of the round robin tonight. The Czechs dropped their first one to Sweden, 4-2. Latvia lost with 8 seconds remaining in regulation despite a 38-save effort from Edgars Masalskis (I'm spelling that from memory so it's probably wrong) to Switzerland. In theory, the Czechs should win this one easily, but apparently the Latvian goaltending is better than anyone knew, and the Czechs are doing... well you tell me Czechs, what are you doing?
Game of the Day: Sweden (1-0-0-0) v. Switzerland (1-0-0-0), men's prelims - Group C

This should be a roll for Sweden, but again, the Swiss are always dangerous. They're in that tier of team that could get a career performance from their goaltending and shock any of the top teams and I wouldn't be be all that surprised. Henrik Zetterberg is day to day with a back injury, something about how heavy the rotting corpse of the red wings is. Gabriel Landeskog had an assist in the opener against Czech Republic.
Norway (0-0-0-1) v. Finland (1-0-0-0), men's prelims - Group B

Norway played the Canadians surprisingly strong yesterday. Maybe I should say their goaltending did. Canada had 12 unanswered SOG on them in the second period and only managed one goal for it. Meanwhile Finland gave up 4 goals to Austria. With their goaltending, that can't be acceptable. It'll be interesting to see how they bounce back and whether the Norwegians are heartened by their result enough to give Suomi a run for their money.

Matt Duchene makes his Olympic debut as Canada faces an Austrian side that scored four goals on Tuukka Rask and still got doubled up. If there's a "total goals" betting line for this game, take the over. Canada have a game together on big ice under their belts now, after defeating Norway 3-1 yesterday, so they should be ready to fire on all cylinders and Austria clearly has some offense but lacks the defending from Jonas Holøs to save them from the 8-goal shellacking. Canada wins this one two touchdowns to one imo.
