Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Your Colorado Avalanche take on the Blackhawks of Chicago tonight at the Pepsi Center.
On the injury front, bad news all around. Parenteau is out 'til the playoffs with a sprained MCL. Paul Stastny won't play tonight and is day-to-day with back issues. Coach Roy said he hoped Stats would be back Friday vs Anaheim but it sounded more like a wish than a promise. Cory Sarich will be the rotating D scratch and Wilson continues his chronic habitation of the press box.
There is some good news. Brad Malone and Paul Carey were recalled from the Monsters late Monday night and arrived in time for the optional skate yesterday. They will play on the 4th line with Bordy. Also, Reto "Yogi" Berra finally got his immigration status sorted and has begun work with Francois Allaire to get sharpened up in case of need down the stretch.
Even though Patrick is skeptical that we won't see Corey Crawford in net tonight, Q reiterated this morning that Antti Raanta will get his first start in 43 days. You may recall Raanta was in net for the 7-2 shellacking the Hawks laid on us right after Christmas Break, but he also gave up 6 goals in 2 games against Lake Erie very early in the year so he can sieve it up given the chance.
