This is it folks, the final weekend. Two games left, both against the hated Grand Rapids Griffins. The Monsters lost to GRG in November 6-4 and crushed them in February 4-0 in one of Sami Aittokallio's best games of the year.
Outside of attempting to exit the North Division basement, there isn't much for the Monsters to gain in the standings this weekend. Getting to .500 isn't possible and the Iowa Wild have Worst in the West locked up. Individually, guys can pad some stats, but there are no imminent milestones unless you consider 50 point seasons remarkable, both Olver and Agozzino can reach that with 2 or 3 points each.
This weekend is about playing for pride, for next year's jobs, and maybe a shot at being on the Avalanche's Black Aces once the season concludes.
Mason Geertsen and Spencer Martin have yet to don Game Jerseys, so this is their last chance at playing pro hockey until next year.
Swedish forward Dennis Everberg is apparently close to signing an ELC for next year with Colorado, most likely starting out with Lake Erie next Fall. Here's his profile from Eliteprospects, he had 17G/17A in the Swedish AHL this year.
Kyle Hope has played a couple of games for LEM so far and seems to be enjoying it.
