Do you think the Avalanche are trying to get bigger? Holy cow.
With their 4th pick in this year's draft the Avalanche selected Alexis Pepin, their 4th player over 6'0" tall and their second over 220lbs. Alexis Pepin is 6'2" 229lbs and plays for the Gautineau Olympiques. Here's his stat-line for the season:
2013-2014 | GP | G | A | P | PIM |
Charlottetown Islanders | 37 | 8 | 9 | 17 | 58 |
Gatineau Olympiques | 23 | 9 | 8 | 17 | 11 |
Pepin also added 4 goals and 1 assist in 8 games for Gatineau in the playoffs.
This is what Future Considerations had to say about Pepin back in November:
Pepin is a hulking two-way winger who uses his size to protect the puck as he drives to the net. He has the shot to capitalize on scoring chances and the strength to win battles and play a physical game. His head for the game currently moves faster than his feet do though.
Heeeeeeeeere's Pepin!
