Colorado Avalanche sign Zach Redmond to a two-year, $1.5M contract. He is a 6'2"/205 lb defenseman who played for Winnipeg in 2013-2014. The 25-year-old has puck-moving skills and has a good shot from the point, but he doesn't use his size well (a common theme among Colorado defenders). He was predominately an AHL player last year and should be expected to be the same for the Avs. He's a .49 point per game player in the A, yet still inconsistent. He's likely to be fighting with Stefan Elliott for a roster spot on the Avs, if not initially then as the first call up.
