Avs Training Camp Day 1: Viewers Guide & Open Thread

Good morning all! Rookie camp is in the books with all 28 souls still present and accounted for, now we move on to the main course. 67 players (so far) are raring to go at Family Sports Center today from 9:30 MT to 2:30 MT. Holy shit that's a long time...

AJ will again be taking copious notes and compiling a comprehensive review later on in the day. Other MHH staff will be on scene as well tweeting out for our Live Ticker.

- The only surprise on the roster, other than all of the rookies making it through, is the addition of Kenny Ryan on a Professional Try-Out. Ryan was a 2nd round pick of the Leafs in 2009 out of Michigan and the Windsor Spitfires. The 6' 209# RW has spent the last 3 years with the Marlies of the AHL racking up 38 pts and 107 PIMs in 125 games. Ok.

- Rumors bounced around yesterday afternoon that former Avs defenseman and alternate captain Derek Morris was considering deals to try out with either the Avs or Oilers. Sure, we really could use another RHD...

- Lots of injuries were hinted at yesterday by Head Coach Patrick Roy, the most serious being off-season back surgery for Patrick Bordeleau taking him out until Christmas. Mitchell, McGinn, Hejda, Landeskog, O'Reilly and Talbot are day-to-day, but then again, aren't we all. All except Bordy are expected to participate in pre-season.
