Colorado at Carolina Game Preview

"When it comes to revenge, the most expedient method is not necessarily the most satisfying." -- Alexandre Dumas, Le Compte De Monte-Cristo

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Revenge should be on the forefront of everyone's mind tonight as the Avalanche seek to exact some from the dastardly Spinning Weather, who claimed victory last Wednesday 1-0 in overtime. Everyone knows gravity-induced slides of white frozen weather are far superior, and Coach Patrick Roy and company look to realize what we all know to be true.

Both teams are playing the second game of a back-to-back, with the Avalanche defeating the Lightning and the Hurricanes beating the Islanders on the road last night respectively. Colorado wraps up a three-game east coast road trip, looking to go 2-1-0 with a victory tonight. They will fly home afterward to play the San Jose Sharks on Sunday afternoon.

The Avs will again start goalie Semyon Varlamov, who was brilliant last night against one of the top offensive teams in the NHL. The lines and defensive pairings are also expected to look the same:

Landeskog - Duchene - Skille

Tanguay - MacKinnon - Iginla

Comeau - Soderberg - Everberg

McLeod - Mitchell - Grigorenko

__

Beauchemin - Johnson

Holden - Barrie
