Saturday night the Avs earned Patrick Roy his 100th career coaching victory with a 5-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets. Led yet again by their top line, the Avalanche notched five goals and manage to save themselves from letting a 3-0 lead slip away. The Avs now return to the road where they will play their next four games.
The four game trip starts off against the Islanders Monday night. The Islanders are enjoying their first season in Brooklyn, where they have gone 7-4. But a quarter of the way through the season, the Islanders aren't quite where they want to be, still holding onto a wild card spot in the Metropolitan division. Filled with young talent, including one young defenseman that wants to be shipped out closer to family, the Islanders are still looking to make there way toward the top of the standings. The Islanders are coming off a 3-2 win in Tampa on Saturday, they will look to take on another young team in the Avalanche Monday night.
