According to the Colorado Avalanche's official twitter page, the team has recalled Joey Hishon following the NHL Trade Deadline.

With current NHL roster spots vacated by Max Talbot and Paul Carey in today's Jordan Caron trade, the Avalanche were down to just 12 healthy forwards including regular healthy scratch Daniel Briere. The Avs have rectified that by calling up fan-favorite prospect Joey Hishon to possibly see some NHL time before the end of the season, and... his contract.

After more injuries, and a slow start to his AHL season, Hishon has rebounded some lately.  He currently leads the Monsters in points with 14 goals and 18 assists in 50 games played.  Last year Hishon appeared in three playoff games for the Avalanche, registering 1 assist and 1 shot on goal.  This late season call-up will likely be a tryout for Joey Hishon in regards to his next contract with the Avs' organization.

Best of luck to Hish, who's overcome incredible circumstances with head injuries to still be playing today.
