Avs fans got their first hint at Jordan Caron's new number via twitter last night, when the recently acquired forward went to twitter to introduce himself to his new team:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Thanks to the <a href="https://twitter.com/NHLBruins">@NHLBruins</a> and especially all my teammates for those 5 years. I'm gonna miss all of you guys!</p>— Jordan Caron (@Jord38caron) <a href="https://twitter.com/Jord38caron/status/572547855094837248">March 3, 2015</a></blockquote>

Talk about endearing yourself to your new fans in a hurry!
While the Avalanche have not confirmed Caron's number yet on their roster page, but the Denver Post's Terry Frei gave us the official number via twitter.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Hishon 38, Caron 27. Their numbers, that is.</p>— Terry Frei (@TFrei) <a href="https://twitter.com/TFrei/status/572820781199052800">March 3, 2015</a></blockquote>

(I wonder how he feels about Caron scooping him, and announcing his number change first via twitter)
Frei and our own Cheryl Bradley went on to report the following for Avs line combinations. You can find Frei's tweets on practice here and his post-practice story, with some quotes from MacKinnon on Talbot's departure here.
Gabriel Landeskog - Ryan O`Reilly - Nathan MacKinnon
Jordan Caron - Matt Duchene - Jarome Iginla
Alex Tanguay - John Mitchell - Dennis Everberg
Cody McLeod - Marc Andre Cliche - Daniel Briere/Joey Hishon
To summarize, Jordan Caron will get a big opportunity right away, as he slides into Max Talbot's slot with fellow 1st round picks Matt Duchene and Jarome Iginla. Nathan MacKinnon also gets his quality linemates back as Roy reunites the Avs best possession line of the season after a 2 game breakup. Joey Hishon might have things a little harder if and when he makes his season debut. He's competing with Danny Briere for a spot alongside McLeod and Cliche. So if there's anyone out there who wishes MacKinnon was still on the 4th line, it's probably Hishon.
The Avs and their new additions take on the Pittsburgh Penguins tomorrow night at the Pepsi Center. Puck Drops at 10PM MST, 8PM MST
