Washington Capitals at New York Rangers, Game 2
Capitals lead series 1-0
NBC
Game one between these familiar foes was an absolute slugfest and today should be no different. The Rangers are fighting to tie the series before flying into enemy territory in DC. Meanwhile, the Capitals are looking to take a 2-0 death grip by stealing both games on the road in NYC. Henrik Lundqvist (.931) and Brayden Holtby (.969) were both spectacular in net, as both teams played about as even a hockey game as you can imagine. Shots 32-29 in favor of the Rangers. Hits 34-32 in favor of Washington. Penalties, 6 minutes each. In a game like that, all it takes is 1 shot to make the difference. That shot came from Joel Ward with less than 2 seconds left in the third period. 2-1 Capitals. If you want to hear Madison Square Garden go dead quiet in the blink of an eye, just press play.
