Good morning all. The SCF is taking a travel day so let's take a look back at a relatively quiet week for the Avs.
- The Lightning got on the board with their first Cup Final win last night 4-3 over the Hawks and they sealed it without their starting goalie, Ben Bishop. Bish left the game before a power play in the 3rd where Jason Garrison scored the game-winner, returned, then left for the duration midway through the period. Tampa coach Jon Cooper flat out refused to talk about why Bishop left so the rest of the series is a bit up in the air obviously.
- Much as I detest linking to DP articles, I just can't resist this gem from old friend Mike Chambers. Chock full of #hottaeks including Max Noreau perhaps being the Avs best D prospect, the usual "Siemens is a bust" and a nauseating top 5 defensemen to pursue this summer.
- I know everyone's been hanging on the edge of their seats waiting to see who the Avs ECHL affiliate will be next year, just like I have. Looks like we'll have to wait a little longer. I put the K's chances at no better than 40-60 at this point, but you never know.
Aside from all that, we've had copious rumors of who the Avs may be targeting at the upcoming amateur draft at the end of the month, a rumor of possible interest in diminutive 28 year old American scoring phenom Derek Ryan from the Swedish League, statements from both the DP and the Altidudes that Hejda & Wilson shall not re-sign with Colorado and wild speculation that Alex Radulov may have already signed to play for the beloved Avalanche next season.
From what we have been hearing, the Avs held their organizational meetings this week so let's hope we start to get some concrete info in the coming days. We need some.
Bonne chance!
