GDT: Burgundy vs White

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen! Your Colorado Avalanche take on themselves in the annual Burgundy-White scrimmage today at beautiful Magness Arena in Denver. Game time is 3pm in the ET, 1pm lima and can neither be seen nor heard anywhere but at the arena.

The Avs will dress 44 players out of the 64 who participated in training camp, which says to me they'll have 4 pairs of defense per team rather than the usual 3. Coach Roy said yesterday that Varlamov and Spencer Martin will split the game on one side while Calvin Pickard and Reto Berra will do the same on the other.

Some lines we know will happen:

Landy - Soderberg - Mikko

Martinsen - Dutch - Iggy

Tangs - Grigs - Mack

It's hard to pick a team to root for here because they're both so awesome, but if you must... Team White won last year 4-3, topping Team Burgundy for the first time in several years. Burgundy has the all-time lead in the series 9-5.
