The Avs took another weekend heartbreak this Saturday, losing to the league's worst team record-wise. The Jackets swept the season series with the Avalanche with a fluky bounce near the end of regulation. The goal coupled with a Nashville win over Minnesota pushed the Avs back to the outside of the playoff picture. But as the Avs continue to look up in the standings, they may want to be a little concerned about the team that sits behind them in the Central.
The Avs opponent Monday night, the Winnipeg Jets have won two in a row and have gained back some of the ground they had loss in November and December. The Jets now sit just two points behind the Avalanche. The Avs will have to stand their ground and get back on track against a young Jets squad led by their 22-year old netminder, Connor Hellebuyck.
