Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Your Colorado Avalanche take on the Lightning of Tampa tonight on Florida’s left coast. Game time is 7:30pm ET, 5:30pm in the mountains and will be broadcast on Altitude and NHLdotTV with Moser’s radio call available as usual.
For the first time in the Jared Bednar era the Avs are coming off a loss, although it wasn’t a surprising one. The guys took yesterday off to refresh after facing two of the toughest teams in the NHL back to back... so they can face yet another incredibly tough team. Looking at this trip beforehand I figured they’d beat the Pens and lose to the Caps. This Tampa game was the real unknown and I think it’s going to be a good barometer of where they are as a team right now. They don’t have to win to show progress (it would help) but they do need to control play a lot better than they did against Washington.
Rene Bourque has LBI issues so Ben Smith will return to the lineup centering the 4th. Smooth Johnny still sits at home and Mikko is hanging with the Rampage crew in San Antonio

We continue the “82 songs the Avs might have considered instead of Delirious” feature today with “Evil Has No Boundaries” by Slayer off their underrated debut album. Enjoy.
