In a rough night for Colorado hockey teams, the Eagles were unable to remain undefeated, as they feel to the Aces on Saturday night by a final score of 5-2, bringing their overall record to 3-1-0.
Alaska opened up the scoring in the first period when Coffman scored seven minutes into the first period, sneaking it past Kent Simpson to put the Aces up 1-0. However, the Eagles would equalize the game with a goal of their own coming from defenseman Michael Sdao before the conclusion of the first period.
The Aces would be able to respond and retake the lead in the second period, as Perfetto converted on a shot from the top of the right circle. Heading into the third period, the Eagles would equalize the game with a goal from Casey Pierro-Zabotel. The Aces would be able to jump back ahead of the Eagles when Aces forward Peter Sivak received a pass from the low slot and put it past Simpson to put the Aces ahead 3-2. The Aces would then convert with two more unanswered goals to seal the 5-2 victory.
