Game 16 Preview: Avalanche @ Stars

After putting together a solid game against the Los Angeles Kings Tuesday, the Avalanche (7-8-0) return to the road for a three game trip, starting in Dallas (6-6-5).

It turns out the Avalanche's offense is not quite dead. The Avs put together a solid defensive outing against the Kings on Tuesday and it lead to offense as for the first time in tweleve games the Avs scored four goals. Once again, Varlamov was outstanding in net and the Avs cruised their way to a 4-1 home win.

Now the Avs will head on the road for a short three game trip starting in Dallas. While the Stars currently sit in a playoff spot in the west, they have had troubles in the goaltending department. As was the script for the Stars the last two years, they continue to be a team fueled by their offensive prowlace and doomed by their terrible goaltending. Only two teams have allowed more goals than the Stars. The Stars will look to outcore the newfound Avalanche offense and keep the team that put up six goals against them on opening night from returning to .500.
