On the final night of the World Series between the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians, the Colorado Eagles were playing host to the Reading Royals at the Budweiser Events Center. In a game where the Eagles had a two goal advantage, they ended up falling 4-3 to the Royals.
Luke Salazar would find the back of the net to put the Eagles up 1-0 over the Royals, which would prove to be the lone goal of the first period. We would see the Eagles strike first in the second period, with Casey Pierro-Zabotel scoring early in the the second period, however the Royals would get a goal of their own to cut the lead in half with a goal from Robbie Czarnik to end the second period with the Royals having the 2-1 lead over the Eagles.
The Royals would tie up the game at two with a quick goal in the final frame from Steven Swavely, and would soon take the lead two minutes later with Chris McCarthy scoring the 3-2 leading goal. Not even a minute later, the Royals would score one more time with a Mike Pereira goal to bring the score 4-2 in the Royals favor.
Darryl Bootland would score with 4 minutes remaining the final period for the Eagles to bring the Eagles back to one, but the rally would come a little too late.
Come and check out the Eagles this weekend as they host the Idaho Steelheads on Friday night, puck drop will be at 7:05pm at the Budweiser Events Center.
