Avs Tame Bruins; Win 4-2

THE LOSING STREAK IS OVER!

Avs Handle Bruins; Win 4-2 in Boston
Colorado Avalanche

Now this is the team that we have been waiting for!

The Avs would get off to a strong start with a nice little wrist shot from the slot by Matt Duchene , shortly after he would deke two Bruins out of their jock straps earlier in the period. The Avs would not be done, as later in the period Nathan MacKinnon would convert on a shorthanded breakaway, and ripped one past Khubodin to give the Avs the 2-0 lead before the end of the first period.

However, the Avs would not be done there. In the second period, John Mitchell would bring the puck up the ice and would also snipe the puck past Khubodin to give the Avs the 3-0 lead

The Bruins would not give up, as David Pastrak would get a goal for the Bruins on a breakaway of his own. Calvin Pickard would make the first save, but Pastrnak would stick with it to knock the rebound home.

A little bit after his shorthanded breakaway goal, Pastrnak would rip another one past Pickard from the top of the slot to pull the Bruins to one goal.

The Avs would be given a powerplay, and would be able to convert on it with a nice one-time shot from former Bruin, Carl Soderberg to give the Avs the two goal lead once again to give the Avs the 4-2 lead at the end of the second period.

Heading into the final frame, the only thing going through my head was "For the love of God, PLEASE be able to play a solid 20 minutes and hold onto this to snap this horrible losing streak." I am sure that I am not the only Avs fan who was doing this, and the Avs FINALLY held onto a lead.

See ya later six game losing streak, hopefully we will not see you for the rest of the year!

The Avs will be back at it again when they go to Montreal to visit the Canadians, puck drop is scheduled for 5 pm Mountain time, on Saturday December 10th (my birthday). The best present the Avs could give me would be a 2 game winning streak.

Lets go Avs!
