Mikkel Boedker Selected to 2016 World Cup's Team Europe

Colorado's newest player has just been picked for Team Europe.

Marilyn Indahl-USA TODAY Sports

If there was any doubt about the talent of newest Colorado Avalanche Mikkel Boedker, today's announcement that he was selected to Team Europe should pique some interest if not quiet some concerns. 2008's 8th overall draft pick is considered to have quite a bit of ability, and his inclusion on the European continent's non-Sweden/Finland/Russia roster is a testament to how NHL GMs view the 26-year old from Denmark.

He'll join players like Zdeno Chara, Tomas Tatar, and Marion Hossa of Slovakia; Roman Josi of Switzerland; and Anze Kopitar from Slovenia. Leon Draisaitl, the 20-year old Edmonton Oilers center from Germany, gets perhaps the best opportunity as a young player on a team full of NHL veterans.

Boedker and his multinational brethren will wear this logo, which I've decided is some sort of bizarro take on the Canucks alternate uniform. You decide:
