When Reto Berra was traded this week, the Colorado Avalanche goalie depth suddenly became a bit exposed. With the 131st overall pick, they drafted gigantic Swedish netminder Adam Werner to reload their arsenal.
Werner is a 6'5" and 200 pound 19-year-old and most certainly embodies the size of the modern NHL goalie. He hails from Mariestad, Sweden was a member of the SHL's Farjestad BK franchise last season.
He posted a 2.49 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage in 30 games played.
