Good afternoon sports fans. Your Colorado Avalanche take on the Avalanche of Colorado today at beautiful Magness Arena in Denver. Game time is 5pm in the East, 3pm Mountain and will be broadcast for the first time ever on Altitude TV. Moser’s call will be available on AltRadio950 for those of us without access to Altitude, also for the first time ever.

No idea how the rosters, lines and pairs will go but we can break down who will not be around. The Camp roster had 59 guys on it. Jiri Tlusty flunked the physical so he’s gone. Trent Vogelhuber is recovering from appendicitis, Mikko is out with ankle issues and Jackson Houck has a shoulder problem. Mat Clark has been neither seen nor heard from so far. The 6 fellows involved in the World cup won’t be available. We’re down to 48 now - 28 forwards, 15 defensemen and 5 goalies. Unless things have changed under JB’s regime that means 4F/3D/1G will not dress. No word on why but Grigo and Shawn St Amant did not participate in Day 2 practice, so there’s that.

Just to make things weird, the first 2 periods will be regular NHL play then the 3rd will be running time for some reason.

This wraps up Avs Training Camp. There will be a practice tomorrow then some of the guys will travel to Minnesota to open Pre-Season competition against the hated Wilds on Tuesday night. There will also be a game at the Pepsi Center on Wednesday against the Stars so this is more or less a Split-Squad situation.
