Happy New Year from your pals at MHH

Good morning all and best wishes for a happy new year from the MHH staff. No Avs or WJC games today but in the news:

- The Avs lost again last night 6-2 in a game not worthy of recapping.

- Elliotte Friedman had some thoughts on what the front office might be thinking on a few players during last night’s HNIC broadcast. You can find them here in a video that probably starts automatically. Nothing earth-shattering, Mack and Mikko aren’t going anywhere. Dutch and Landy could if someone wants to pay up. No mention of taking out the trash but that’s gotta be #1 on Joe’s mind.

- Avs next disaster will be tomorrow night in Vancouver.

- The Rampage have gotten healthy and are making a stealthy climb out of the AHL basement. They beat the Tucson PDOrunners twice this weekend and shut down the league’s most dangerous power play completely in all 4 games they’ve met. Look for an article on who’s getting close to callup status in the next day or two.

- The Leafs and wings will play outdoors in Toronto today at 1pm ET. The Blues and who else but the Hawks will play outdoors tomorrow at 3. Remember when outdoor games were cool?

- Team USA defeated Tyson Jost and the Canadians yesterday and captured the top seed in Group B. Quarterfinals begin tomorrow, the US plays the Swiss at 5:30ET in Toronto and Team Canada takes on the Czechs at 8ET in Montreal.

Enjoy your black-eyed peas & collards today and make a few resolutions to break. Bonne chance!
