Game 40 Preview: Ducks @ Avalanche

After five days off, the Avalanche (13-25-1) return to action against the Ducks (22-13-8).

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Avs snapped a ten-game losing streak at home Friday night with a thrilling OT win against the New York Islanders. The enthusiasm shown by the players after the win may have just been enough to keep them around during the five day hiatus. With rumors swarming around the team, especially around their young core, the Avalanche will continue to keep their season from a complete free fall. While the GM Joe Sakic listens to offers from other teams, the Avalanche will get back to action against the Ducks on Thursday. Can they pull off another home win?
