Game 42 Preview: Blackhawks @ Avalanche

After losing to Cody McLeod and the Nashville Predators, the Avalanche (13-27-1) host the Chicago Blackhawks (27-14-5).

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

If there is one thing Saturday afternoon proved for the Avalanche, it's that Cody McLeod was not the problem with the Avalanche. While they Avs got their first two-goal lead in 16 games, they let it slip to an all too familiar loss at home.

Tuesday night, the Chicago Blackhawks will come to their home away from home and will likely be greeted by a sea of red in the Pepsi Center to help nurse their two-game losing streak. The Avs on the other hand, will be happy just to play in front of something besides empty seats.

NOTES

- While Nikita Zadorov is stepping up as a defenseman, he still remains the only Avalanche to have played more than 20 games this season and remain scoreless after Francois Beauchemin scored Saturday.

Carl Soderberg has 2 assists and no goals in the last 16 games.

- With this being the start of the second half of the season, this next entry for a better new Avs goal song is only fitting...
