Duchene was sick Monday night. The illness kept him out of Tuesday's practice too. Duchene and Avalanche fans have something in common. They're sick; sick of losing, and losing badly. The Avalanche allowed four goals in the third period to Patrick Marleau Monday night, something that had not happen in nearly 20 years when Mario Lemieux accomplished the feat. Nothing against Patrick Marleau, but he's no Mario Lemieux, and 20 years; that's historically bad.
Wednesday night will be the Avs' last game before the All-Star break. We'll see if Matt Duchene will play. We'll also see if five days off will help cure whatever it is that ills this Avalanche franchise.
