Not much has happened on the Avs front. They will have had 4 days off come Tuesday’s game against the Stars

Colorado Avalanche

Things were quiet for the Avalanche on Saturday. There was no practice for the main roster guys and the front office waited patiently for the San Antonio Rampage to finish their game to call up a few forwards after losing JT Compher and Tyson Jost to injury. See who is first on the list. [MHH]

The Avs AHL and ECHL affiliates, the Rampage and Colorado Eagles, respectively, both came home with W’s yesterday. Dominic Toninato, one of the NCAA free agents signed by the Avs over the summer, scored 2 goals in the Rampage win.

The Rest of the League

Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lighting continues to inspire fear into the hearts of the opposing goaltenders every night. He added 2 goals to his total last night, bringing him to 10 goals, 16 points, in 9 games. He is currently tied with Alex Ovechkin for most goals this season. [Raw Charge]

The Detroit Red Wings made a pair of deals last night, sending Riley Sheahan and a 5th round pick to Pittsburgh in exchange for Scott Wilson and a 3rd round pick.

They also traded Ryan Sproul to the New York Rangers for Matt Puempel.

Before leaving last night’s game with a lower-body injury, Jaromir Jagr played in his 1924th NHL game, tying Gordie Howe for second all-time in games played. [Twitter]

Sidney Crosby received a 10 minute misconduct penalty for abusing the referee after serving a previous penalty and chirping him right out of the box. Not really newsworthy, just hilarious. [Streamable]
