Report: Colorado Avalanche sign Ty Lewis

The Brandon Wheat Kings forward has signed a 3-year entry-level contract with the Avs

Earlier in the summer, I wrote about how Ty Lewis was an intriguing addition to Colorado Avalanche rookie camp. The Brandon Wheat Kings forward was brought in on an amateur try-out and showed well through his time in Denver.

It looks like the tryout has paid off as the Avs have now signed Lewis to a 3-year ELC.

There is no announcement from the Avalanche yet but further to Lavoie’s tweet last night, we have confirmed with the Wheat Kings that Lewis has, in fact, agreed to the ELC.

The 19-year old has been on fire this season, sitting second in the WHL with 10 points through his first four games. He’s a little bit of a late bloomer but is showing that his jump in offensive production last season wasn’t a fluke.

The signing of Lewis adds some much needed forward depth to the Avalanche organization.
