Just when we thought the Colorado Avalanche have settled their roster for the start of the regular season, we find out this morning that Joe Colborne has been placed on waivers.
On NHL waivers today: Brandon Pirri (VGK), Chandler Stephenson (Wash), Joe Colborne (Col), Eric Tangradi (Det), Patrick Wiercioch (Van).

Colborne being put on waivers signals another step in the youth movement for an Avs team that is going to be giving opportunity to youngsters like Tyson Jost, Alex Kerfoot and J.T. Compher.
After missing some time with an injury this preseason, Colborne finally seemed healthy and had been participating in full practice with his teammates this week.
With $2.5m owed to him this season and a less than stellar performance over the past while, it’s hard to believe another team will claim Colborne - making it likely that he will be heading to San Antonio tomorrow.
