Tonight, the San Antonio Rampage will kick off their 2017-18 season against the Ontario Reign at the AT&T Center. This season will be a little different from the past as the Rampage will act as the AHL affiliate for both the Colorado Avalanche and the St. Louis Blues.
Coming off a season they’d like to forget, the San Antonio is hoping to pull themselves out of the basement and take a huge leap up the standings. After a disappointing season that saw the team finish 27-42-5-2, the Rampage have a few re-enforcement to start the season.
The returning Andrew Agozzino will add a much-needed scoring punch to the lineup, while the surprising addition of Joe Colborne should make the team a lot stronger at the center position.
It will be the final season for the Rampage as the AHL affiliate for the Colorado Avalanche, so for fans in San Antonio, this is going to be the last opportunity to see guys like Rocco Grimaldi, Julien Nantel and Spencer Martin on the home team.
For fans who will be heading down to the AT&T Center, the team is throwing a Red Carpet event once again this season. Head down three hours before puck drop (4pm local time) in order to get a chance to meet some of the players before they kick off their season.
There will be a number of returning players this season, but also a bunch of new faces, here’s a look at the complete roster for opening night.
