Colorado Avalanche
One more off day before the team gets back at it against the Carolina Hurricanes at home. On the bright side, another day with no games leaves the evening open for Game 7 of the World Series.
Tomorrow night will be Hockey Fights Cancer night at the Pepsi Center.
We are ready for #HockeyFightsCancer at Pepsi Center.

At least all this downtime has given the team the chance to get out in the community and interact with the fans - more than usual. Yesterday, Anton Lindholm and Mikko Rantanen were handing out with some young students at the NHL’s Future Goals event.

The Avs have played 11 games so far this season, here is a look at which Avalanche players are doing the right things for the team. Who is creating scoring chances, who is producing when the team is trailing, and anything else you’d like to know so far through the season.
THere have been reports that the San Jose Sharks have been shopping a few of their depth players. If true, the Avalanche should try to trade for Chris Tierney. He’s a 23-year old version of Blake Comeau and would fit in well as a depth center and penalty killer both this year and into the future.
Around the NHL
On the injury front, yesterday the Anaheim Ducks placed Ryan Getzlaf on the IR while the Philadelphia Flyers did the same with number 2 overall pick Nolan Patrick.
In the “hockey players can still be role models” category, T.J. Oshie took time yesterday to hang out with a 9-year old girl who is battling cancer. Abby Flint got a chance to go to Capitals practice and hang out with Oshie - her favorite player.
If you don’t like PK Subban, there is something wrong with you - plain and simple. The Predators star was out having some fun with teammate Nick Bonino last night.
@NickBonino and his wife Lauren took it too a level that every athlete would understand & appreciate! Just genius! #PKApproved ☝ #seekers pic.twitter.com/Z0U4V8ERQM
