Saturday Open Thread: Sabres and more

Good morning all. The Avs take on the Sabres tonight, late, at 10pm in the good time zone and 8pm local. Rennie Bork and EJ will return to the lineup, Bork on the 4th with Bad Andy and either Carl or Grigo and EJ will be limited to 5v5 rotation for now. The staff hasn’t made a call on a partner but I’m sure it’ll be someone awesome.

- Tyson Jost scored this fantastic goal last night. Ahhh, next season....

Stunning. By the way, that was his 2nd of the night. He’s good. Seriously, watch that again.

- Not to be outdone, Avs 2017 3rd rounder Josh Anderson scored his 2nd goal of the year last night against the Oil Kings.

- Mose and Julie caught up with EJ yesterday on Alt950 for a nice interview. After listening to this you can get an idea of some things the Avs were missing with him on the shelf.

- Our good friends at BSN have a new guy helping out with the Avs beat. Denver Post veteran and late of Bleacher Report, Adrian Dater has joined the team. Big Red will always be divisive among Avs fans but I’m looking forward to this. Whether you agree with his opinions or not, Dater has always been a very good writer and I think BSN will be an excellent medium for him to do interviews, write and not have to deal with clickbaity “Top 10 whatevers in the NHL” type stories.

- Game thread will be up later this evening. Remember that this is the last home game before the trade deadline so we could be seeing some faces for the last time in friendly colors at the Pepsi Center. After tonight the Avs travel to Philly for a game on the 28th and then.... hopefully lots of good things happen. When the team reappears on home ice a week from tomorrow, it should look noticeably different.
