Perhaps his 2016-17 season isn’t going as planned, but Nathan MacKinnon is making moves again in his comedic acting career. After making a brief appearance in the Canadian television show Mr. D in 2013, the Toronto Metro reports the Colorado Avalanche’s top-line center will be making another cameo in the long-running Netflix mockumentary, Trailer Park Boys.
In the season preview, MacKinnon, a Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia native, can be seen in an Avalanche jersey playing hockey with a group of kids in a local gymnasium—and is apparently unrecognizable to the main characters. “It’s Nathan MacKinnon, you dumbass!”
You may also recall MacKinnon doing a turn in a Tim Horton’s drive-thru with fellow NHLer Sydney Crosby in 2015 with predictably humorous results. The Avalanche may only have 20 wins in a last-place season, but they’re definitely winning on the silver screen.
(Fast forward to 1:10 to catch a brief glimpse.)
