There's been a lot of negativity around the Avs this season, so for this preview, let's try something different. Let's be positive.
The Avs ended their four-game skid Tuesday night against the Hurricanes, winning their first season series. The big guns showed up as the Avalanche came from behind to secure a victory behind goals from Gabriel Landeskog, Tyson Barrie, and Nathan MacKinnon. Nathan MacKinnon in particular broke a 15-game goalless drought. Maybe that empty netter is what MacKinnon needed to go on a tear. Tyson Barrie also collected his fourth multi-point game of the season and his 30th point as he got points on all three goals. Newcomer Sven Andrighetto also recorded his first point as an Avalanche. With some easier opponents on the horizon, maybe that victory was just what the Avs needed to start stringing together some victories near the end of the season starting with the Devils Thursday night.

NOTES
- The Avs are one of only four teams to defeat the Western Conference leading Minnesota Wild twice in regulation.
- The Canes have never won in regulation in Denver.
- The next entry for Avalanche goal song today is actually really good...
